“Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment.”

Grenville Kleiser

Picked up a new book today (or rather, the Amazon driver dropped it at my door): “365 Days With Self-Discipline” by Martin Meadows. Day 80 featured the above quote from a seemingly prolific writer of a decade past.

I find his sentiment here to ring true. Life will take a swing at you from time to time. Jabbing back with a bit of humor, even if only thought, helps. Perhaps life is more funny than serious anyway.

Martin Meadows, the author of the book, concludes his thought on Kleiser’s thoughts: “I strongly suggest creating a list of simple ways you can improve your mood that you’ll be able to turn to when you find yourself in a distressing situation.” Practical.
